Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MeetGrove mobile application (the “App”), operated by Kkpo LLC (“MeetGrove”, “we”, “us”).

By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the App.

⚠️ Mandatory arbitration not included. Most US consumer apps include an arbitration + class-action-waiver clause in §14. We’ve left it out pending a decision and a lawyer review — talk to counsel before adding one, since the wording has specific enforceability requirements.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older to use the App. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

If we learn you are under 18, we will terminate your account and delete your information.

2. Your account

  • You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure.
  • One account per person. Don’t create accounts for someone else, transfer your account, or pretend to be someone you’re not.
  • The information you provide (name, photos, age, gender, location, bio) must be accurate. Some fields (gender, age/date of birth) cannot be edited after profile completion.
  • You’re responsible for everything that happens on your account.

3. How groups work

  • You can create or join topic-based groups of up to 5 people.
  • Groups go through three states: Waiting (filling up), Pending Confirmation (everyone must accept), and Active (chat enabled).
  • A group must reach full capacity and all members must confirm within 4 hours; otherwise it returns to Waiting.
  • If a group goes silent for 4 days after activation, it is automatically disbanded.
  • You can cancel a topic you created while it is still in the Waiting state.
  • You can leave any group at any time. Leaving a group permanently removes you from it.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post or transmit content that is illegal, harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation.
  • Send spam, advertise, or solicit business or money from other users.
  • Sexualize, sexually solicit, or otherwise target minors. Conversations or content involving minors will be reported to authorities.
  • Share other users’ private information (real-world location, contact details, photos) outside the App without their explicit consent.
  • Use the App to plan or carry out illegal activity.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or interfere with the App’s operation, security, or rate limits.
  • Use bots, scrapers, automation, or fake accounts.
  • Bypass content moderation, age verification, or blocks.
  • Violate any applicable law (including export controls and sanctions laws).

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor, review, or moderate content. We use automated tools (including Azure AI Content Safety) to scan profile names, bios, and topics. Chat messages are not actively scanned but can be reported.

5. Reporting and blocking

  • You can block another user. They will no longer be able to see your topics or rejoin groups you are in. Shared groups are removed from your view.
  • You can report a user for any of the reasons offered in-app. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.

We may, at our discretion, warn, suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. User content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile photos, bio, topics, messages). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely for the purpose of operating the App (e.g., showing your profile photo to other group members, delivering your chat messages).

This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except:

  • Backups may persist for up to 30 days post-deletion for disaster recovery.
  • Content already received by another user’s device remains on that device until they delete it.
  • Aggregated, anonymized data derived from your usage may be retained indefinitely.

You represent that you own or have the rights to all content you submit, and that the content does not infringe any third party’s rights.

7. Push notifications

We send push notifications about your groups (e.g., “Your group filled — confirm now”). You can disable these in your device’s system settings.

8. Subscriptions and payments

The App is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, those will be governed by additional terms presented at the time of purchase.

9. Third-party services

The App integrates with third-party services (Google Sign-In, Microsoft Azure, Sentry, Expo, Google Maps Platform). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

10. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account, or by emailing help@meetgrove.app.

We can suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, posed a risk to other users, or to comply with legal process. We are not required to refund or compensate you for terminated accounts.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution) survive termination.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We do not control the conduct of other users. You interact with other people at your own risk. We do not verify users’ identities, ages, statements, or backgrounds beyond requiring Google Sign-In and an 18+ self-attestation. Use common sense when meeting people in person.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any information will be accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL GROUPCONNECT, ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS, OR (b) US $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations. To the extent any limitation is unenforceable in your jurisdiction, it applies to the maximum extent permitted.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MeetGrove and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) your use of the App, (b) your content, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the App will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Loudoun County, Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

Optional addition (US): Insert a mandatory arbitration + class action waiver here. Drafting these correctly is jurisdiction-specific — have a lawyer write the clause.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you in-app or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment. You may not assign your rights or obligations. We may assign ours.
